From The Horse's Mouth

Few would disagree with this unequivocal statement of the fundamental democratic principle:

'In a modern democracy it is important that those who make the laws of the land should be elected by those to whom those laws apply. The House of Lords performs its work well but lacks sufficient democratic authority.'

Who made it?  None other than Nick Clegg.  From that it follows that he must favour withdrawal from the EU and the establishment of an English Parliament, with powers at least equal to those of Scotland's, mustn't it?

He really is an idiot.

Gruff thanks to David, at A National Conversation for England, for the quote, and to Gareth Young at Toque, for the link to it.

Ian Tomlinson 'Unlawfully Killed'

How likely is it that the psychopathic thug who murdered Mr Tomlinson will be brought to justice, given that he is a serving police officer?
